Place-based Work
Geelong:
“A Real Deal for Geelong” began in mid 2021. Organisations from the Union movement, faith communities and community groups are working together to come together for the common good to create a fairer future for our community as we move through the climate transition. Contact sally.fisher@sydney.edu.au
Gladstone:
This work is supported by the Queensland Community Alliance, and is building a community voice in economic and social transition. There is a local coalition made up of ten local union and community groups working together. If you are interested in this, please contact Elise Ganley through admin@qldcommunityalliance.org
Western Sydney:
Real Deal in Western Sydney is working alongside Sydney Alliance to explore practices of community organising among underrepresented communities in Western Sydney around questions of heat and economic transitions during climate change. Please contact Dibya Shree Chhetry – Dibya.Chhetry@sydney.edu.au if you are interested in the research.
If you are interested in our place-based work or doing something where you live, contact amanda.tattersall@sydney.edu.au.
